Inspection: Portable Tool Box

This guide applies to the Tool Vault and Montezuma Portable Toolboxes.

FEDEX GROUND – NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED

90% of our portable toolbox orders ship FedEx Ground and do not require a signature. The shipping carrier will simply leave your package on your doorstep or a discreet location on your property.

You must inspect your product for damage immediately at delivery within 24 hours to be eligible for a replacement item claim.

If you do not report the damage within 24 hours of delivery, we will be unable to help you file a claim with the carrier.

SHIPPED WITH FREIGHT / BULK

If your portable toolbox is shipping:

  • In a bulk order of 4 or more.
  • With a tool cabinet.

Your entire order will ship freight, and all freight terms and conditions apply.

If your portable toolbox is shipping with freight, you will be notified, and you must adhere to the inspection instructions and damaged freight policy applicable to that shipment.

You may sign the bill of lading once all items you are accepting have been inspected and declared perfect condition by your own best judgement.

When you sign the bill of lading, you are signing an agreement with the freight company that states that you or an authorized representative has thoroughly inspected the shipment. Once signed, you agree that you have received the shipment without damage. This agreement also waives any rights to file a freight claim.

INSPECTION

Open the package by cutting the straps and tape surrounding it, remove the top and set aside all packaging and materials. Remove the plastic bag from the toolbox and inspect thoroughly for damage.

If your item is found not damaged and in perfect condition, there will be no additional action once your order is fully received.

If required by the carrier, please sign for your shipment once all items are inspected and found in perfect condition.

If your item is found damaged:

You must report damage immediately to StrictlyToolBoxes.com to be eligible for a replacement item without incurring charges for return shipping or restocking fees.  Please call our customer service at 888.289.1952 or email us at sales@strictlytoolboxes.com.

FedEx Ground**:  If you do not report the damage within 24 hours of delivery, we will be unable to help you file a claim.

Freight:  If you do not report damage before accepting and signing for the delivery, we will be unable to help you file a claim.

Per the freight carrier’s claim request, StrictlyToolBoxes.com may ask you to provide photos of the tool box and packaging.

**Once reported, StrictlyToolBoxes.com will issue a call tag on your damaged shipment; a driver will pickup within 2 business days. We will ship out your replacement once the damaged tool box is in transit.
