Preparing For Your Delivery

Accepting a freight delivery is a relatively simple process that requires some attention to detail and preparation.

This guide will address factors you may need to consider when ordering your tool box and expecting your delivery.

1. DO I NEED LIFTGATE DELIVERY?

Lift Gate delivery is required to remove your shipment from the back of the freight truck, directly to the ground.

  • Locations with a shipping/receiving dock, forklift, or specialized equipment may not require lift gate.

What happens if I forget to add lift gate delivery to my order?

  • Your shipment will be brought back to your local terminal and re-scheduled for the next business day.
  • Please contact us at 888-289-1952 or at sales@strictlytoolboxes.com with your order number to add Lift Gate to your order.

2. DO I NEED A DELIVERY APPOINTMENT?

It is highly recommended that you call your local freight delivery terminal to schedule a delivery appointment as soon as your shipment notification with tracking is received.

  • Once you input your tracking number into your freight carriers website, you will be given an estimated delivery date with a destination location that will provide your local terminal’s contact information.
  • Once you call your freight carrier and tell them the tracking number, you can schedule a date and time with them for when you will be present for the delivery.
  • All residential deliveries will require a delivery appointment.

If you do not schedule a delivery appointment, your freight carrier will arrive without notice with your toolbox, and expect that you will be present for inspection.

3. COMMERCIAL DELIVERIES

Commercial locations that commonly accept deliveries do not require an appointment, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you schedule one to ensure your shipment will receive a proper inspection by the correct personnel with that responsibility.

  • If someone other than yourself signs for your shipment without inspecting it, they are signing a binding contract with the freight carrier stating that your shipment arrived in perfect condition without damage, and you will be unable to file a claim.
  • 80-90% of all damaged freight that is signed for is done by a coworker that was available and unaware of our freight inspection process, while the proper consignee was away.

If you do not schedule a delivery appointment, your freight carrier will arrive without notice with your toolbox, and expect that you will be present for inspection.

4. RESIDENTIAL DELIVERIES

All residential deliveries will require a Delivery Appointment before the carrier attempts delivery.

  • Once you input your tracking number into your freight carriers website, you will be given an estimated delivery date with a destination location that will provide your local terminal’s contact information.
  • If you are having trouble locating the phone number to your local terminal, please contact Strictly Tool Boxes at 888.289.1952 and we will be happy to look it up for you.
  • If your freight carrier is not able to speak with you, they will hold your shipment at their terminal.

To avoid any possible hold-ups with your delivery:

  • Some residences are located on routes that may not be suitable for commercial vehicles, including routes and driveways with narrow winding roads, sudden steep inclines, and areas where heavy vehicles are prohibited.
  • When you schedule your delivery appointment, please identify and mention any distinctive terrain and travel conditions that are present on the truck’s route to your residence.
  • Freight drivers are not obligated to pull into your driveway.
  • If you need help, please contact us at 888.289.1952 or at sales@strictlytoolboxes.com so we can help plan an effective method for accepting your delivery.

5. OTHER DELIVERY CONDITIONS

You must notify us at sales@strictlytoolboxes.com or 888-289-1952, if these unique delivery conditions are met:

  • The delivery destination has restricted or limited access (gate code, checkpoint, work site, government and private facilities, etc.)
  • The delivery destination is in a difficult area for a freight truck to pull into
  • The tool box must be shipped or delivered by a certain date

This way, we can help plan the most effective delivery within consideration of those factors.

Limited Access

  • Limited Access locations are defined on your respective freight carrier’s rules tariff. Please note that every freight carrier’s rules tariff varies and subject to change.
  • To avoid any holds on your delivery, please contact us at 888-289-1952 or at sales@strictlytoolboxes.com if your delivery destination is within, or may possibly be within a Limited Access area.
